Blog Oct. 10
Friday, Oct. 10 - Tonight I got a Presidential endorsement from progressive
Republican Theodore Roosevelt..., well, sort of.  You can view it below.

It was actually Joe Wiegand performing his one-show at the Goodwill Theatre's Schorr
Family Firehouse Stage. It was fascinating, like stepping back in time. Wiegand stays
in character for the whole evening.  He is a wealth of information.  It's a living history
lesson on one of our of most interesting presidents.

Earlier in the evening I also went back to radio talk show host Tony Russell 's door.

Turns out I was there last night going door-to-door, he didn't tell me who he was but
discussed it on his show the next day.  I told him if he wants to discuss things in the
future he should give me a call and get me in the studio that way he could actually
have a two-way conversation.

Tony is far less confrontational when you are standing right in front of him.

He does not believe Broome County should take over the Sewage Treatment plant,
as I do. He says Broome County hasn't show they can run anything properly. Tony
does agree the current situation is not working.  In his typical fashion, though, he
really doesn't have a viable solution.  He suggests privatization  but nobody would
buy that plant and if anybody ever did it would cost the current users more not less.

I'm not sure that's a situation that would please any constituent in District 12 other
than Tony Russell himself.
Shaking hands with "Teddy Roosevelt" a.k.a. Joe Wiegand.  His one-man show in the character of the past
president was a fascinating living history lesson.
