Blog Aug. 29
Friday, Aug. 29 - I 've had a busy couple of days. Tonight I launch this campaign blog.
Every few days I'll give you an update from the campaign trail. When I'm elected I plan to
offer the same type of dialogue and analysis of county issues.
Thursday I attended the special meeting of Legislature for the vote on reducing it from 19
legislators to 15. There were some very insightful points made by all 17 of the legislators
present. They framed the pros and cons very well. Let's hope over the next two months this
debate makes it out to the public because the final decision will rest with you the voters. I'll
try to find the time to frame the issue here on these pages at a later date.
The resolution to extend the legislative terms from two years to four years did not pass,
Democrats voted it down. So the people will not have a chance to vote on that. Too bad,
because that was something that made sense. Do you really want your county legislators
campaigning every two years? How does it benefit you?
Today I picked up my first palm card. I am now ready to begin visiting voters. Since I was
asked to step into this candidacy at the very last moment, I was behind some of my
colleagues in getting materials together. You can view the card in PDF form by clicking here:

This weekend I'll attend the Johnson City Field Days at Northside Park on Harry L Drive and
begin going door-to-door to introduce myself to the voters in District 12.
I look forward to hearing what's on your minds, understanding your priorities and finding
solutions. Let me know, here's how to reach me....
